Last weekend we ventured out to Port Waikato for our second pop-up ride. It was great to have our friends from Nikau Cave & Café host us and our mates from Lazer/Shimano support us. The group of like-minded peeps gathered sipped coffee and chatted about their bike setups, recent adventures and other life topics amid the incredible backdrop of Waikaretu.

With a relaxed atmosphere, we headed out across rolling farmlands filled with mixed terrain and gorgeous rock formations. The best part was the group staying together and sharing riding stories amongst each other. And for us, we got to share our stoke for gravel riding and the incredible area with everyone that attended. On return, with the vibes high the group had a refreshment before heading home. Oh, and some lucky peeps won Lazer helmets!

We hope we encouraged more people to join this ever-growing scene. Our presenting partner, Shimano, shares our same vision of growing the gravel community. It’s great to have them align with us, ride with us, provide mechanical support for us and share a beer or two after with us. We’d like to thank them for their continued support! If you’d like to attend our upcoming event in Whangamomona head over Dirty Detours for all the details.
